Sophia Thomalla
Sofia Thomalla is the daughter of actors Simone Thomalla and André Vetters. She grew up in Berlin until the age of seven and then moved to Cologne with her mother. After completing the fourth grade of school, she and her mother moved to Kleinmachnow and a year later to Gelsenkirchen, where she lived after her mother separated from Rudi Assauer in early 2009. Like her mother, Thomalla took up kickboxing as a recreational sport. In her youth, she participated in amateur fights.
In autumn 2009, Thomalla returned to Berlin for professional reasons, and in October 2010 she moved to the Dutch Quarter in Potsdam.
Thomalla was in a relationship with Rammstein singer Till Lindemann from April 2011 to November 2015. On March 11, 2016, she married Norwegian singer Andy LaPlegua in Marietta, Georgia. In May 2017, she announced her divorce from LaPlegua. In 2017, she was in a relationship with British musician Gavin Rossdale. Since January 2019, she has been in a relationship with German football player Loris Karius. The breakup became known in June 2021. In October 2021, Bild newspaper reported on Thomalla's relationship with German tennis professional Alexander Zverev.
Thomalla has been a member of the CDU since 2012.

From 2007 to 2009, Thomalla attended the Konstantin School of Drama, Dance and Singing in Bochum. In 2006, she landed her first television role as the daughter of Barbara Rudnick and Henry Hübchen in the ARD crime series Commissario Laurenti through her friend, television director Sigi Rotemund.
In 2009, Thomalla applied for an open casting call for the German's Next Top Model casting show; she was eliminated in the first round.
